Is Cardio Overrated?
Often I have been accused of being anti-cardio, so I want to take some time to discuss cardio training.Hopefully, you'll will think differently and try some new things after reading this article. These are some ways how to lose weight fast without traditional cardio.
The question is whether cardio training is necessary or not for someone who wants to be lean and physically fit.You come to see that I am not against cardio as long as it's done properly and has its proper place.
Most people who are into fitness believe that cardio is essential to accomplishing fitness and weight goals.The reality is, that most people will not even question that.I will go beyond questioning it to actually challenge it.
Some of the most physically fit people I know never do traditional cardio and all.While some overweight people who are not physically fit to benefit some from low-level cardio, they'd be better off doing other things. One thing is that they should also get healthy foods to eat .
For most people cardio involves long periods of time on the elliptical machine or treadmill while watching TV at the gym. This is what I call the traditional form of cardio that really does not produce results.
If you take another look at it however cardio is really anything that strengthens your cardiovascular system.
Even if what you are doing is weight training, if it elevates your heart rate and gets you out of breath, it is cardio. Take a barbell exercise where you lift it off the floor to your shoulders bent over your head. Incidentally, women need to realize that this is not just a man's exercise: this can help you too.
Anyhow, this type of exercise is frequently looked at as if it were strength training. In reality, after you do about 10 or 15 of these with a decent amount of weight your heart rate will be up close to your maximum as if you had just sprinted.Next try to do about 20 repetitions of one arm swings with the kettle bell then tell me you're not out of breath and your heart is not beating fast.
So you can say that you are conditioning your heart with this type of training even though people will traditionally say that you are doing strength exercises. This not only saves you workout time, but it strengthens your entire body if you do them with intensity.In reality you're not going to get results from exercises that you can do while you're reading or watching TV. My challenge for you is to give up the traditional cardio for a couple months and start exercising your entire body with weights.
It won't take long for you to see how that you are losing weight and developing your six pack while losing belly fat.
